Childers Childers, in the heart of the Isis Shire, is unlike any other town on the national highway between Brisbane and Cairns. It has it’s own unmistakeable characteristics. The green rolling fields of sugar cane set against the vivid red volcanic loam are the first perceptions the highway traveller draws of the district. Childers itself is a treasure trove of early Queensland architecture. The broad expans of the tree lined main street with the wonderfully quaint buildings promotes an almost English village feel. A street walk map is available from the local tourist information centre, and provides an invaluable guide for tourists to make themselves familiar with the history of the town. The tourist information centre is located in the Palace Memorial Building, which also houses the Palace Backpacker Memorial and Childers Art Gallery.

 We are especially proud of our ice-cream, tarts and whole nuts that we make ourselves from our own macadamia nuts. We also have a wide variety of macadamia spreads, coffee, biscuits, tea, oil, chocolate bars and beauty products, made by other macadamia lovers like ourselves.
 The entry fee includes a chance to handle a python and young saltwater crocodile after the first snake show and after the croc show. You can use your own camera or we have a digital camera here to take a snap for you.
 Bundaberg Regional Council has been formed by the amalgamation of 4 councils including Bundaberg City Council, Burnett Shire Council, Isis Shire Council and Kolan Shire Council.
 Our small vineyard is planted with Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Muscat and we supplement our needs with handpicked grapes from other local vineyards as well as from the South Burnett.
